A different View On Stumble Exchanges

Yesturday, I explained you how to create Stumble Upon Traffic, through exchanges
Today, I would like to show a different point of view, and comment.

Alex Baily In his blog protests against all the Stumble Upon exchanges, together with digg and del.icio.us exchanges too.
You can read his post here

He was mainly talking about sites that their whole purpose is to exchange stumbles/diggs/bookmarks, and he has two main points in his article:

  • Stumble Upon traffic is low quality traffic
  • It’s really easy to catch you and ban you

Let’s take a look at both points:
Yes, stumble upon traffic is of a low quality. Most people will not browse your page for more then a few brief moments, and even less would actually click your ads or buy your product.
However, stumble upon traffic is not useless.
Some, even if it’s a small percent of the people who get into your site might bookmark you, and return to you later.
A small percentage might even get interested and read some of the content on your site, and eventually - click an add.
But the best part of Stumble Upon traffic- is that it’s massive, and it’s self growing
If you get 200 visitors a day from Stumble Upon, then with even 0.5% CTR, you get two more clicks a day. Two clicks with good keywords could be 3$ a day, which sums up for 90$ a month from Stumble Upon traffic only.
Plus, the more people see your site, even for a brief moment, the more buzz you’ll have around your site. And buzz means backlinks.
As for Stumble Upon traffic being self growing, I mean this - if somebody who gets into your site through Stumble Upon likes it, he’s likely to give you a thumbs up, eventually you get more stumbles, and the Stumble Upon traffic becomes even bigger.

As for banning - yes, it is true Stumble Upon/ Digg/ Del.icio.us representative can easily get into the exchange site and ban anybody who appears there.
But my question is, what do you loose by trying?
And the answer is - nothing. If you never began with the exchange, you would have never gained the Stumble Upon traffic you might loose if they ban you.
But if they don’t ban you, then you gain lots of traffic.

So, all in all, you have nothing to loose, and although unethical, Stumble Upon traffic can bring revenue, and revenue my son, is everything.

StumbleUpon Traffic - How Does It Work?

StumbleUpon.com is quite a new concept on the internet.

The idea is simple - people who are bored, need something to entertain them.
So, they go to StumbleUpon, and are showed random websites that they might like.

Actually, not exactly random, the sites you are shown depend on a few factors.
First, each “stumbler” has the option to rate any site he enters, and thus StumbleUpon knows what types of site he is interested in.
And second, the site you are shown depends on your network of friends - you can add people as your friends, and you are shown sites that your friends marked with thumbs up(A.K.A the sites they liked).

On this we can play. If you have many friends, then those friends will eventually view your site.
More of it, if somebody who has lots of friends “stumbles”(A.K.A. votes thumbs up) your site, all his friends will view your site.

So, what we can do now, is create a huge network of people who stumble your site, and thus you get lots of traffic from StumbleUpon.
There’s only one catch - it can take a few years until your network of stumblers naturally grows.

Fortunately, StumbleUpon doesn’t monitor stumble exchanges.
Therefore, you can exchange stumbles (as in “I stumble you, you stumble me”) with fellow webmasters, and this way quickly increase your stumble network.

From what I hear, 100 stumbles are enough to bring a steady traffic of at least 30-40 stumblers to your site.
And the best part is, that StumbleUpon visitors are likely to stumble your site. So, once you have a steady StumbleUpon traffic, your StumbleUpon network will begin to increase naturally.

Now it’s time to find some good Stumble Exchange networks.
The best place to find free stumbles is Digital Point Freebie Forum, Every day there’s at least 5 new stumble exchanges posted, and the best thing is, you can post your own, and very quickly you will get a couple of dozens of new stumbles.

Another way to exchange stumbles is the Stumble Organizer.
It’s a very new site, and I’m not sure how successful will it be, but it surely is promising.
The concept is simple - Stumble all the people on the list, and then add your own site on the list.
However, there are a few problems with this site - first, nobody makes sure you actually stumbled all the sites on the list, and second, there’s no spam protection whatsoever.

P.S.
And don’t forget to stumble Cashcook.info- The site that taught you all you know about online profit!

Text Links - Why Do You Need Them And How Do You Get Them?

Yesterday I’ve been talking about how to monetize your site with text links
Today it’s time to talk about how will text links help you develop your own site.

Many webmasters spend hundreds of dollars every month for text links.
One might wander, why the hell?
Why would a webmaster pay 30-50$ for a single link?

After all, text links are small links that don’t attract the eye, so there won’t be much traffic from them.

However, the purpose of buying text links is not direct traffic, not at all.

People buy text links because they want the backlink.
It’s no secret that even a few PR5+ backlinks on a site that doesn’t have too much outgoing links are good to boost your own PR.

In SEO, the PR is everything. Without high PR your pages will rank low, and no matter how much on-site optimization you do, your Search Engine traffic will be limited to minimum.

So, if you could buy 10 PR7 links for 30$ each, you’ll get a huge PR boost, for 300$ per months.
10 PR7 quality backlinks, together with lower quality backlinks you can get for free, can easily give you PR4-5, which means a few hundreds of highly targeted visitors to your site from Search Engines.
Any good webmaster will be able to make more then 300$ a month with such a traffic.

Now once you are convinced text links are good for you, time to find those precious text links.
It’s not too hard finding any number of text links you need, for a good price.
You can buy them on eBay, you can buy them on forums (forums.digitalpoint.com Have a great Link selling forum).

The easiest way to buy text links, however, is through Text Link Ads.
Text Link Ads offer a bridge between link sellers and buyers, and they charge an extremely low commission.
They have a searchable list of thousands of advertisers that will be more then happy to place your text link on their site. So it won’t be any hard to find a relevant site for your niche.

Beside that, Text Link Ads also offer $100 in FREE Links to any new link buyer.

Monetizing You Website or Blog Through Text Links

Google Adsense, and all other PPC advertising and Affiliate banners are all good ways to monetize a web site.
There’s one problem with them though.
With Adsense and other PPC advertising, no clicks=no money.
With affiliate programs this is even bigger, since clicks are not enough, you actually have to get the sales to get the money.

This is problematic, since clicks and sales are not only your responsibility. If the ads displayed by Adsense are not attractive you’ll get no clicks.
If the sales letter your affiliate customers are directed to is not well written, there’ll be no sales.
And there’s nothing you can do beside seeking the best advertiser - and you will end up in a constant search for advertisers, that never ends.

But there is a better way. You will need some traffic and a PageRank for this method, but once set up - you don’t have to do anything, just watch the money roll in (Oh my god, I sound like an Internet Marketing Guru that makes millions every day ;) ).

The point is, Text Links are not there to make direct sales.
Webmaster buy text links on high PR sites to get the backlink, and eventually rank high in search engines. In a certain sense it is much more important then getting a couple of direct sales through an ad.
So, once you get a good PageRank (say at least PR 2-3), start thinking about text links.
Make a place for them, so that they do not disturb with your content, but still visible. For example, in my site, once this site gets it’s PageRank update, I’m going to place my text link under the promotions.
Make sure they will be somewhere on the top of the page, advertisers don’t like links on the bottom.

Now all you have to do is start selling text links.
Just never offer permanent text links, and better not put more then 8-10 text-links on the same page.
You never know how big will your site be in a year, and you really don’t want to be stuck with a 10$ text-link once you grow to 5,000 daily visits, forever.
As for limiting yourself to 8-10 text links - this is not as definite.
Too much links and you become a link farm, search engines don’t like sites linked from link farms, and text link advertisers like only what search engines like.

Now the hardest part - finding people who will pay you for text links.
You can sell text links on eBay, but unless your site is extraordinary you won’t be able to get much per link, since the competition there is big.
Selling on forum is an option, but might be hard to find buyers that will advertise with you for more then a couple of months.

The best way to find text link advertisers is a company called Text Link Ads.
Text Link Ads will let you Sell Ad Space on your website, up to 8 text ads per site.
They will give you a suggested price, and will attract advertisers to advertise on your site.
And the best part- all you do it place a short javascript code on your page, and your job is done! Everything else is automated.

Depending on your traffic and PageRank, you might make a few hundreds every month simply by placing Text Link Ads on your site.

List Of Google Adsense Alternatives

As I said before on my last post, I lost my Google Adsense account because of some click happy kid.
Many of my readers have probably lost their Google Adsense account too, or just are sick of being afraid of the ban.

So, in order to get back at Google Adsense without breaking the law, I am going to teach you how to monetize your site without the default Google Adsense.

Of course - the best thing you can probably do is pick up a few Affiliate Programs that pay good money, and are highly targeted towards your audience, but there are a couple of problems:
First, it’s really hard to pick the affiliate programs that will work for your site.
And second - for small traffic sites, this won’t do. With little traffic there’ll hardly be any clicks, and testing Affiliate Programs will take months until you can see which works and which doesn’t.

So, I have compiled a list of various PPC Advertisers, that will be glad to place a link on your site, and will pay for every click.

And here’s a few that are coming soon:

In the next few days I will review some of those, and will introduce some more ways to monetize your website. Bear with me, and don’t forget to subscribe to the RSS feed!

Banned by Google Adsense - The Big Net Bully

Yup. Happens to everybody, happened to me too.
After years of working with Adsense, after making me(and them) more then 10,000 dollars with Google Adsense.

As much as publishers love Google Adsense. There’s no protection against their banning.
You can follow all TOS as much as you want, and then comes a trigger-happy kid, who clicks lots of your links, and your account is banned.
I had 250$ pending payment on my account, guess they are all confiscated by the Google bastards that call themselves moderators.

Anyway, Adsense is known for many years as an Internet bully, banning many without any proper reason, without explaining themselves (Since their algorithms are so secret, they can’t tell you why have they banned you).
You can send them a mail explaining why have you been banned, but the problem is:
a) How can you prove that a trigger happy kid clicked your link, if you can’t get any info about the ban?
b) They never reply. Ever.

So I no longer have an Adsense account. I guess it’s time to move on to alternative monetization methods, maybe even better then Adsense.
One thing is sure - the nightmare of having my account banned will never return ;).

To get back at Google, without doing anything illegal, beginning tomorrow I will be posting many alternatives to Google Adsense, it won’t make much difference, but even if I make a few webmasters move from Adsense to a normal Advertisement provider, who does not ban it’s advertisers on sight, my job will be done!

The Right Approach to Google Adwords - Campaign Blasting

Many have tried Google Adwords as a tool for Affiliate Marketing.
Most of those have found out that only about one out of 10-15 campaigns actually succeed.
And since you waste a few hours for keyword research per campaign, advertising with Google Adwords becomes very unprofitable.

To solve this problem comes Campaign Blasting - Quite a new technique, and the only technique that I saw that can bring success with Google Adwords.

The main idea behind Campaign Blasting, is that only 1 out of 10-15 campaigns yield any success. If we could test 20 campaigns every day, and see which are successful, and which are not, we could pick out the ones that yield revenue, and drop all the others.

To do that, pick 20 Affiliate Programs, don’t bother too much on researching them. Just pick Affiliate Programs that pay good money per sale, don’t mind the product too much.
Now go to Google Adwords, and create a new campaign for each Affiliate Program you picked.
Use only the keywords that Google Adwords suggests you, plus all keywords you can think of in the brink of the moment, do not waste a second on thinking of any more keywords.
Limit each Affiliate Program to 5$ a day, and limit CPC to 0.20$.
The whole process should not take more then 10 minutes per Program, and 3 hours for all the 20 programs together.

Wait a couple of days, and see which Programs yielded at least one sale.
Those who yielded no sales - drop to the trash bin, they won’t be useful to you.
Those who yielded at least one sale have a good potential. Now pick those, make a good keyword research, optimize your bidding to yield most clicks with minimal expense - do all the stuff that you were taught of Google Adwords until today.

Probably you will not have more then 1-2 successful campaigns per Campaign Blasting session.
But that’s 1-2 successful Adwords campaigns within a few days, with only about 3 hours of work.
Each such campaign can yield you a few hundreds a month.

Another Method to Gain Access To Internet Marketing Products for FREE

On yesterday’s post I reviewed an eBook that teaches you how to gain access to many Internet Marketing products for free.
As I stated yesterday, there is one method that eBook overlooks. Today I’m going to describe that method.

But first, legal disclaimer: This post might include information that may be used against the law.
This is the reader’s sole responsibility as to how he’ll use this information, and the writer takes no responsibility whatsoever on how will the reader use this information.

Now that we are done with legal stuff - many online “Gurus”, “Millionaires who want to share their secrets” and so on and so forth try to protect their content from being indexed by search engine with robots.txt . After all that’s the only way to make sure your “members only” page does not get indexed in Google, and then anybody will be able to access it.
So,in the robots.txt file they tell the SE crawlers, where they shouldn’t look.
So, let’s say you want to access www.product.com for free.
In your address bar try writing http://www.product.com/robots.txt.
If the page is not found, then there’s no chance for this method with this product.

If page is found, you will see many lines begging with “Disallow:”, and then comes a directory name.
These directory names are directories the site’s owner doesn’t want crawlers to visit.
One of them could easily be the download or “members only” page.
So now there’s some brute forcing involved, but all you have to do is check out all those directories.
For example, if in http://www.product.com/robots.txt you see a line saying “Disallow: /members/”,
Try writing in your browser’s address bar “http://www.product.com/members/”.
Sometimes it will bring you to the members area, and then you win!
Sometimes it will show you the directory’s contents, and then you should just press each and every file the directory includes, to see if it’s the page you are looking for.
Many times it will give you something irrelevant, and then you just move to the next Disallow line.

Use your common sense, directories such as /members/, /thankyou/, /VIP/ etc. are more likely to be the “members only page” then directories such as /cgi-bin/, /support/, /scripts/, etc.

In the end, remember, that if it’s worth reading, then it’s probably worth buying, and those people who take the time to write quality products, deserve the money.

Product Review: Fall of the Gurus - Get Access to Any Internet Marketing Product for Free

Fall of the Gurus is a new eBook, that promises much: Get access to any Internet Marketing eBook for free, legally.
I bought the eBook not because I really needed to access so much Internet Marketing books for free, but more out of curiosity.

The book is professionally written, and the writer had made his research before writing the book.
As for the content itself - the book lists 4 different techniques, I am not going to reveal the techniques, since I don’t want to ruin the writer’s business, but I’ll just say that 2 of the technique are quite obvious, the other two are quite complicated, and most would not think about them themselves.

The book states that 90% of the “Marketing Gurus” are quite incompetent when it comes to protecting their product, and therefore 90% of their products can be easily accessed for free.

I have tested the methods offered myself, on random products, and succeeded only on around 25%.
However, I have though about an extra method, that gave me another 25% success. This extra method I will teach you tomorrow.

As for legality - the eBook states that all techniques are 100% legal, since any intelligent internet surfer might perform them.
However, as I see it, there is some hacking involved, so the legality is under question, but if you do not try to resell the products you “accessed for free” nobody will ever be able to catch you, so it all depends on how moral are you.

All in all, if your morals are not too demanding, I’d say this is quite a good eBook, and is definitely worth reading.
Stay with me tomorrow to discover the extra method, that will easily give you access to about 25% of all Internet Marketing products.

You can buy the Ebook at:
