How To Monetize Your Feed Through Pheedo, While Keeping FeedBurner Tracking Intact

A blog’s RSS feed is very important for it’s success.

Through the RSS feed, the blogger(you) can keep his readers with him, returning for more content every day, and through the RSS feed the readers can easily check for updates on the blog.

There’s only one problem with RSS feeds: They are much harder to monetize then ordinary web pages, mainly because you can’t place Javascritp in your feed, and since both Adsense, and most other Advertising networks work on Javascript, you can’t place any ads on your feed.
Also, tracking your RSS feed is pretty hard, yet again, because Javascript, and for that matter any other type of scripting, is disabled.

Warning: include() [function.include]: URL file-access is disabled in the server configuration in /home/svarogg/public_html/wp-content/plugins/runPHP/runPHP.php(383) : eval()’d code on line 3

Warning: include(http://cashcook.info/adsenseskyscraper.php) [function.include]: failed to open stream: no suitable wrapper could be found in /home/svarogg/public_html/wp-content/plugins/runPHP/runPHP.php(383) : eval()’d code on line 3

Warning: include() [function.include]: Failed opening ‘http://cashcook.info/adsenseskyscraper.php’ for inclusion (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/svarogg/public_html/wp-content/plugins/runPHP/runPHP.php(383) : eval()’d code on line 3

However, there is a solution for both problems.
For the tracking problem we have a well known solution - Feedburner. Feedburner tracks all your feed activity, including the number of subscribers, which RSS readers are used, number of clicks, which bots accessed your feeds, and much more.
For the monetization problem there’s a less known solution - pheedo. Pheedo let’s you ad PPC ads on your RSS feed, and get paid for every click on the ads, just like adsense.

There’s only one problem left. These two services don’t work well together. And for long time I was running Pheedo ads that gave me no revenue at all, no matter how much clicks I got on them.

A few days ago I’ve made a few changes, and Voilla! I’m making nearly 50% from my Adsense revenue through Pheedo, without the Adsense revenue hurt in any way, since those visitors who see the Pheedo ads, never see the Adsense ads.

Anyway, here’s what you have to do to make Pheedo work with Feedburner.
(note: this tutorial is written supposing you are using Wordpress)
a) Sign up to both Pheedo and Feedburner.
b) In you Pheedo account, set up a feed, and select the “purple” configuration.
c) In the feed URL, write http://your.domain.name/wp-feed.php (note: do not write http://your.domain.name/feed/ or any other permalink in the feedURL field).
d) Set up a feedburner feed, and put you pheedo feed URL(http://www.pheedo.com/f/yourfeed) as the Original Feed in Feedburner.
e) Set your blog to redirect requests for your feed to Feedburner. This can be easily done with The FeedSmith Plugin.

Warning: include() [function.include]: URL file-access is disabled in the server configuration in /home/svarogg/public_html/wp-content/plugins/runPHP/runPHP.php(383) : eval()’d code on line 7

Warning: include(http://cashcook.info/adsenseskyscraper.php) [function.include]: failed to open stream: no suitable wrapper could be found in /home/svarogg/public_html/wp-content/plugins/runPHP/runPHP.php(383) : eval()’d code on line 7

Warning: include() [function.include]: Failed opening ‘http://cashcook.info/adsenseskyscraper.php’ for inclusion (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/svarogg/public_html/wp-content/plugins/runPHP/runPHP.php(383) : eval()’d code on line 7

This will redirect all people clicking your feed buttons, and those going to http://your.domain.name/feed to your feed, that’s tracked with Feedburner, and monetized with Pheedo.

Get SureFireWealth Annual Silver Membership ($147 value) For $97!

As I wrote in my post Getting Internet Marketing Products Without Paying, And Without Breaking The Law, I have got most of the product I share here thanks to SureFireWealth. You can read this post for more info.

I have also said back then, that I never paid the $147 that the SureFireWealth annual Silver Membership costs. I simply signed up to a much cheaper program, that gave me that membership as a bonus. Back then I didn’t remember which program it was, but here I found it again!

So here’s Membership Riches by Jason James. Don’t be fooled by his cheesy sales page, he’s like all other “Guru’s”, promising the maximum, while delivering the minimum.

His product is OK, you can make money with it if you put yourself into it, but the real value in his membership area are the bonuses, and specifically, the free Surefire Wealth ‘Silver’ Membership ($147.00 value), and Brian Edmondson’s List Profit Academy ($197.00 value).

Brian Edmondson’s List Profit Academy is a very good course on building a list and profiting from him, while SureFireWealth is the biggest Internet Marketing eBook library known to man. If you read my post, you already know what you can do with such a library.

All this, and a few more bonuses, you can get for only 97$, after which, you’ll never have to waste a penny on eBooks, the same way I never did.
Check it out:

Dynamic Talking About Internet Marketing

In my post Good Marketers Have Good Teachers, I’ve said that I didn’t learn all I know on my own. Back then, I told you about my biggest teacher John Chow, but he’s not the only one who taught me all I know.

This time I will tell you about a relatively new blog, called Talking Dynamics - The Dynamics of Business, Marketing and Profits.

The site is quite young, but to generate some buzz the owner have already announced a competition, and the prize is worth a bit more then the SQUIRTs I offer. The man is offering a Samsung LNT2653H 26? LCD HDTV! That’s 1000 bucks in retail value. And all you have to do to win this pretty is to join his forum, make at least 3 posts, and hope to be the lucky one.
Where’s the money coming from? Don’t ask me, but if you are interested, More information is available here.

As to the blog itself, the first few posts are quite dull, and you can find similar posts on other blogs, mainly Internet Marketing news such as:

But the latest few posts are actually much more interesting.
It seems the guy who runs the blog has a few sites that he spent lots of money and time on designing and promoting, and then forgot about.
So now he decided to make a few experiments, and to re-design and re-promote those sites, to bring them to success. For now he started two experiments:

I’m looking forward to see how will those two sites do in some time, since the man looks like a good marketer, and it will be interesting to see how does he bring sites that have been lying for months doing nothing back to life.

Google Adsense - Which Keywords to Target?

A common mistake I see among Adsense publishers, and frankly, a mistake I’ve been doing for long time, is hunting the highest paying keywords within the niche.

This strategy can be very powerful if you display only one ad block.
On your single ad block you’ll probably have no more then 3-4 ads, which mean the top 3-4 paying ads will be displayed. In certain niches the top 3-4 ads might reach 3-4 dollars pet click!

However, most publishers use all 3 ad blocks, to improve CTR. This way, your site might display up to 12 ads.
To maximize revenue, you should maximize the average CPC, and not the maximum CPC.

For instance, let’s take the keyword “Guitar Heroes”.
Let’s go to the Google Adwords Keyword Tool.
Write “Guitar Heroes”(without the comments) in the Keywords box, select “Cost and Ad Position Estimates”, and set 100$ as Max CPC.

For the Keyword “Guitar Heroes” google shows us an amazing CPC of more then 10 bucks for the first position!

However, let us reduce Max CPC to 0.70$, and let’s search for guitar heroes in the list. At the time of writing this article, the keyword “Guitar Heroes” showed average CPC of 0.37$, and ad position 1-3.

What this information tells us, is that there’s a single Adwords advertiser who bids a crazy amount of more then 10 bucks for this keyword, but he’s alone. The next highest bidder is bidding less then 40 cents, and you know what it means for your ads? Most clicks you’ll generate will not give you more then a few cents.

Now let’s take a look at another example.
Let’s take the keyword “free spyware blockers”.
At 100$ CPC it gives you $5.36 average CPC - not bad at all, but not half as good as the 10 bucks for “Guitar Heroes”.
Now let’s go down to 1.70$ in the max CPC. You can see that at this max CPC the Estimated Ad position is 4-6. This means that you’ll have at least 3 ads that pay more then 1.70 per click.
Now go down to 1 dollar. The Estimated Ad Position is already 7-10. That’s What we’ve been hunting for! This means that at least 6 of your ads are paying more then a whole dollar!
That’s already a good keyword.

But that’s not the best you can do. What we want to find now, is a keyword that gets Estimated Ad Position 11-15 for 1 dollar. In other words, we want to find a keyword that costs more then one dollar on any(or nearly any) click. Beware, this is going to be hard, since such keywords are extremely rare.

I’ve succeeded finding only a single keyword that yields such great results while writing this article, and it was “affiliate internet make money online program”. This keyword yields 4.53$ if you set max bid to 100, but you will get at least one dollar for each and every click, so it won’t be a bummer any way.

Now, how are you going to write a page that targets such a long tail keyword is another question. ;)

Top 10 Usefull Wordpress Plugins I Use

So, I’ve decided to write another Top 10 List. Those are always useful to many readers, and make a good results on the Digg, so don’t forget to Digg this post!

So, let’s check out Top the 10 Wordpress Plugins the dude from CashCook.Info is using:

  1. Complete RSS - This one is a must to any blog, and I never understood why it’s not the default in Worpress. Seriously, how many times have you encountered an unreadable RSS feed, and decided that this feed is not worth reading? This plugin will turn your RSS feed into an alternative form of your blog. Yes, less people will see your Adsense, since Adsense is not viewable in RSS, but the number of people who read your blog every day will grow, and eventually - those people will enter your site from time to time, and they will click your ads in the end of it.
  2. Related Posts - A couple of months ago. In my post “How to Increase Your Blog Traffic Quality” I’ve explained that you can increase your revenue without increasing traffic, if you make your visitor read as much posts as possible. One way to do that, is to present him a few related posts after every post. That’s exactly what this plugin does.
At the time of writing this post, the homepage for this plugin wasn’t working. Therefore, I’ve uploaded it to CashCook.Info, and you can download it from here.
  3. Brian’s Threaded Comments - This one is another plugin I believe should be introduced as the Wordpress default. This plugin makes the interaction between your readers and you, and among the readers themselves much, much easier. With this plugin, beside being able to reply to your posts, readers will be able to reply to other reader’s comments, creating a discussion, rather then a monolog with one sided replies. This also makes it easier for me to reply you if you ask me any questions.
  4. Subscribe to Comments - This plugin is also very useful to create discussion. A problem I’ve encountered many times are readers who ask something in comment their comment, and then never come back to see if anybody actually cared to answer his question. This plugin ads a box which the user can tick, and then he’ll receive e-mail if anybody replies to his comment.
This will also remind your readers that your blog exists, and maybe it’s time to check whether you made any new posts.
  5. Better Comments Manager - This one is very useful if you have a huge reader base. On big blogs you’ll see new comments added on very old posts quite often, and it’s humanly impossible to go over all your posts, and reply to all new comments.
This plugin ads a new tab in your Wordpress admin panel, which lists all comments in chronological order, and will let you easily reply those comments through your admin panel without going to the post.
  6. RunPHP - Yet another plugin that should have been a default, but for some reason escaped the Wordpress creator’s mind. The name is self-explanatory, the plugin enables PHP code inside your posts. The installation of the plugin might be quite annoying, and you’ll have to tick a box each time you want to run PHP code in a post, but I haven’t found a better alternative yet, and my Adsense ads rely on this plugins, as explained in this post, so this plugin is a must.
  7. WP Tiger Administration - Now this one is a life saver. I’ve discovered this plugin after installing yet another plugin, increasing, yet again, the number of tabs in the “Options” panel. The thing has became so crowded that I spent hours searching for the options of a certain plugin. Beside, who will not agree with me if I say, that the default Wordpress control panel looks terribly ugly?
So what this plugin does is turn your Wordpress control panel from an ugly crone into a real beauty. If your eyes are important for you, check this one out!
The only concern I had is that this plugin will mess up with the stuff my other plugins that affect my control panel. But since “WP Tiger Administration” doesn’t change anything beside the CSS sheet, everything works perfectly. It even worked with a Hebrew Wordpress blog I helped a friend of mine set up, and as you might know, since Hebrew is written from right to left, it creates lots of problems with any software.
  8. Google Sitemaps - This one is a must for anybody who wants to achieve high Search Engine saturation. It create an XML sitemap of your blog, that you can submit to Google Sitemaps. Believe it or not, but I can get whole blogs indexed within a week with this plugin only.
  9. Sociable - This one adds links to any Social Bookmarking network on earth at the bottom of each posts. Some prefer other plugins that has links to only the biggest Social Bookmarking networks, and those are better for those blogs which have the chance to get to the front page. But for such blogs as CashCook.Info, that don’t stand a chance to get 50+ digs for a single post, it’s better to make it easy to find a spot on as many Social Bookmarking networks as possible, instead of striving for a front page spot on a specific Social bookmarking network.
  10. And last but not least: Buy Me A Beer - About this plugin I’ve been receiving e-mails from the day I activated it. As I have found, people don’t like donating their money, but they would buy you a beer, if you ask for one. So this plugin inserts a plead for beer at the end of every post you write, plus ads a big picture of a mug in the sidebar.
For those who have more family-friendly blogs, you can turn the beer into coffee.

I’ve been talking allot today, time to rest, but my throat is soar, maybe a beer will make me less thirsty? Oh bummer, I have hardly any cash left! :(
Maybe somebody would like to buy me a beer? Of course you would! And you can even do it easily through the link on the bottom of this post. ;)

If you enjoyed this post, buy me a beer.

Link to me, and be rewarded: SQUIRTs for free!

CashCook.Info have been running for nearly 3 months now, and it’s time to move to the next gear- it’s time to dominate the search engine.

Until now, despite a near to 100% Google saturation, I’ve been receiving very little traffic from Google.
To make it happen, to turn Cashcook.Info into the place that people come to, I’ll need much more backlinks.

And as far as it goes, backlink whoring is the best way to get backlinks in the world.
Backlink whoring is when you offer anybody who links to you something in return.
For instance, John Chow, about whom I’ve written some time ago, on his blog on how to make money online, has achieved number one position for the term “make money online”, through link whoring.
What John Chow does is offer a link to anybody who reviews his blog. And he’s already made 86 batches of 10 links. That means he has 860 backlinks with the anchor text “make money online”, no wonder he ranks #1 for such a lucrative term.

Unfortunately, a link from Cashcook.Info is not of such a high value for the time being, so I’ll have to offer something else.

What I offer is a SQUIRT.

What is SQUIRT you ask?
“SQUIRT stands for Super Quick Indexing & Ranking Tools. SQUIRT is an all in one and easy to use tool that helps your sites get indexed, deep indexed and ranking faster in the search engines.”

In other words, SQUIRT is a tool that does wanders for your SERPs. Before I SQUIRTed CashCook.Info my Google Saturation was around 50%, after the SQUIRT it jumped to 100% in a few days.
If I wasn’t in such a competitive niche, I would have been already seeing floods of traffic to CashCook.Info.
Other sites I’ve SQUIRTed, have began seeing search engine traffic within days.

You can read more about SQUIRT here: http://squirt.robstool.com/ , But you can’t buy it.
Originally it was planned to let only 100 members in, but it sold out two and a half minutes after release, and nearly 250 members succeeded to slip in before the administrators could close registration.
That waiting list to get in is twice longer.
Subscription costs 100$/month, and hell, it’s worth every penny.

So, what do I offer?
Review CashCook.info in your blog/site, and link to http://cashcook.info with the anchor text “Internet Marketing Freebies” plus a link to this post with any anchor text. And then e-mail me at feanorr(at)gmail.com, or leave a comment here, giving a link to the review, and with the URL of the site you want me to SQUIRT, together with up to 3 Keywords.
The only requirement for your blog is that it has at least some presence in the internet - either it’s Pagerank, Alexa rank or Yahoo backlinks, I don’t care, but don’t try to get a free SQUIRT for a link from crappy blogspot blog you created for that purpose only.

P.S.
You can post up to 5 reviews, to SQUIRT up to 5 different sites. But all those sites have to be on different C-class IPs.

If you enjoyed this post, buy me a beer.
